I met Alistair at a Scripture Union camp just after he finished his Highers. Alistair asked me what it was really like to work in Accident and Emergency at RIE; his passion for emergency medicine evident then and it only grew.
It was that same camp where Alistair met Sara, the connection between them was palpable. That was the start of a phenomenal team, working together to deliver events full of creativity and fun. I'll never forget the camp when Als' jaw dropped when in walked Sara dressed up as a pregnant Davina McCall! Years later Daniel was born and Al was a "hands on" dad from the start.
Al was always willing to help in whatever way he could. If a problem arose, he would fix it. His commitment to do a job and do it exceptionally well was part of who he was. An incredibly gifted man in so many ways. I was blown away by the wedding march he wrote for his beautiful bride.
Al and Sara shared a passion for music, a desire to make a difference to people, have vision and compassion, but above all is their love of and faith in Jesus which has bound them together. Al's heart was sold out to God. Jesus his Saviour has welcomed him home.
