A trip to the airport

I have a story about Alistair that I have often thought about prior even to this sad time. When we left Edinburgh to live in Saudi Arabia my husband had gone ahead of me. I packed up our house and tied all the loose ends together before flying over with my 3 small children. We booked a taxi to take us to the airport in the wee small hours of the morning. Alistair volunteered to help us. He woke with the sparrows to arrive even before the taxi and helped me load the luggage and drove behind us. When we arrived at the airport he helped me with all of our bags. I treasure the photo of us leaving the house for the last time that he took. It was a really emotional time for me and yet his quiet steady presence made it all so much easier. It was an incredibly kind gesture that he gained nothing from but meant such a lot to our family.
He was a genuinely good man and will be so very missed by so many people. We thank God for his time here on earth.
